KEY STAGE 2 (AGE 7 TO 11)
YEAR 3 - 6 CURRICULUM
Introduction
This stage builds upon the strong foundations established in the Early Years and Key Stage 1, preparing pupils with confidence and readiness for the next phase of their learning journey. English is taught daily, with a strong focus on developing essential skills in speaking, listening, reading and writing, ensuring that every child becomes a confident communicator. Mathematics lessons encourage practical problem-solving, mental agility and applied understanding, helping pupils to see the real-world value of their learning.
Homework is provided throughout the school, not only to consolidate the skills taught in class but also to create meaningful opportunities for parents to be actively involved in their child’s learning journey. This partnership between home and school helps to strengthen progress and fosters a lifelong love of learning.
"Children’s progress is carefully assessed throughout Key Stages 1 and 2, giving us a clear understanding of their development and individual strengths, while ensuring that their future learning needs are fully supported"
